Dear Swope Medical Group, Incorporated:
Last Tuesday I received your bill for $1,215 for services rendered by the admitting physician at my local emergency room. My husband Jack was the recipient of Dr. Golding’s* services on 9/4/18. Jack died on 10/27/18 of brain cancer.
Please read my recent essay, which goes into detail about what I think of Dr. Golding.
Just in case you don’t have time to read the essay, I will capsulize:
- Dr. Golding refused to order a CT scan of Jack’s brain since he’d had a clear MRI three months prior.
- Dr. Golding attributed all symptoms to overuse of prescribed narcotics, attempting to shame us both.
- Dr. Golding refused to admit Jack. Forty-eight hours later, at the same ER, the admitting doctor gave Jack a terminal diagnosis of brain cancer and admitted him. He was near death.
In consideration of the above, I direct you to my GoFundMe, which is helping me pay off debt I incurred due to Jack’s illness. Instead of me paying you, I ask you to do the right thing and donate $1,215 to my fund. Feel free to add an extra zero and make that $10,215. Given what Dr. Golding put us through, that sounds about right.
I eagerly await your contribution.

* Given the litigious nature of our society, I have changed the physician’s name to protect his guilt and what little is left of my savings.
Thank you!
